Scuba Diving 14″ BCD Wash Hose
The Scuba Diving 14″ BCD Wash Hose lets you easily connect any garden hose to your standard BC inflator so divers can easily clean the inside of their BC bladders, ensuring the BC’s longevity.
It’s essential to rinse the internal bladder regularly to remove any salt crystals from forming inside; the design of this hose also doubles as an internal cleaner for the inflator mechanism.
Occasionally, you could wind up with a few Salt crystals built up inside your BCD, which water just can’t properly break down. For this, I recommend using the Gear Aid BC Life.
Works with all standard BCD inflators and Aqualung i3 BCD’s.

Cleaning your Buoyancy Control Device (BCD) is essential for maintaining its performance and longevity. There are several benefits to regular BCD cleaning:
- Improved functionality: Cleaning your BCD ensures that it operates smoothly, with no obstructions or debris interfering with the inflator/deflator mechanism. This is crucial for maintaining precise buoyancy control while diving.
- Longevity: Proper maintenance, including cleaning, can extend the life of your BCD. Regular cleaning helps prevent corrosion and damage to the materials, zippers, and valves.
- Hygiene: The inside of a BCD can become a breeding ground for bacteria, mold, and mildew, especially if water or moisture is trapped inside. Regular cleaning helps prevent the growth of these harmful organisms and keeps your equipment smelling fresh.
- Safety: A well-maintained BCD is less likely to fail during a dive, which can help prevent potentially dangerous situations underwater. Regular cleaning and maintenance are essential for diver safety.
- Cost savings: Neglecting BCD maintenance can lead to more significant problems that require costly repairs or even replacement. Regular cleaning and care can save you money in the long run.
- Peace of mind: Knowing that your BCD is clean and well-maintained can give you confidence and peace of mind during your dives. You won’t have to worry about equipment issues ruining your underwater experience.
To clean your BCD, you should rinse it with fresh water after every dive, particularly the inside bladder, and allow it to dry thoroughly. Periodically, you should also clean the exterior and check for any signs of wear, tear, or damage. If you’re unsure about how to clean and maintain your specific BCD model, consult the manufacturer’s guidelines or seek advice from a professional dive shop or instructor.
